Itinerary

Day 1DELHI – LEH (BY AIR)

Catch a flight from Delhi airport to Leh. On arrival in Leh, meet our tour representative who shall assist you to transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and rest for some time. Placed at an altitude of 3542 meters, it becomes extremely important to get acclimatize to the high altitudes of the region. Visit the Shanti Stupa that holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama. Later part of the day to explore Leh on your own.

Day 2LEH – SPITUK(BY ROAD - 10KMS/20 MIN APPROX) - PATHER SAHIB (BY ROAD - 24 KMS/ 1HR APPROX)– LEH

Post breakfast, drive to Spituk Monastery, also known as Spituk Gompathat was built in the 11th century, the monastery is home to 100 monks and a giant statue of Goddess Kali. Later visit Gurdwara Pathar Sahib that was built in 1517 in the memory of Guru Nanak. On your way, drive to the Magnetic Hill also known as the gravity hill. It is said that due to the alignment of the road with the slope gives the illusion that cars are able to drift upwards without the engine started. Later, drive back to Leh.

Day 3LEH - PANGONG LAKE (175 KMS BY ROAD / 6 HRS APPROX)

Go for an excursion to the Pangong Tso Lake. Drive past the Chang La pass; at an altitude 5360 m. Witness the local lifestyle of the locals in the Durnuk and Tangtse village, in Changthang region. Also known as Pangong Tso, the lake entices one to get bound and mesmerised by its serene blue waters that are surrounded by Blue Mountains. Treat your eyes to the amazing views all around.

Day 4LEH - KHARDUNGLA PASS - LEH(BY ROAD – 40KMS/ 2 HRS APPROX – ONE WAY)

On 4th day, visit to Khardungla Pass at an elevation of 18,379 ft, the Khardung La is the world’s highest motorable road and serves as a gateway to Shyok and Nubra valleys in Ladakh. Later witness the confluence of Rivers Zanskar and Indus in Nimu.

Day 5MONASTERIES AND PALACES AROUND LEH

Spend this day, exploring the rich culture of Leh. Visit the Thiksey Gompa, a twelve-story complex that houses numerous objects of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. It is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh and perhaps the largest one in the central region. Later, visit the Shey Palace- that once used to be a summer retreat for the kings of Ladakh. Take a halt at the richest and the largest monastery of Ladakh, the Hemis Monastery. Later drive visit the Stok Palace Museum that provides a peek into the heritage of this secluded valley. Precious artefacts and relics related to Ladakh’s old monarchy are well-preserved in this museum, which particularly attract historians and anthropologists.

Day 6LEH – DELHI (BY AIR)

Transfer to the Kushok Bakula airport to board flight for Delhi and onward destination.
