The leitmotif of ethnicity in South India is of glorious temple architecture which goes back to the 6th century, the untouched culture of Lifestyle, food, religion, heritage of silk, rosewood and, of course, the magnificence of classical dance and music. South India is considered to be land of temples, a land of the pious, the abundance of ‘kanakambaram’ and jasmine flowers and the malleable thump of far-away drums that omen the commencement of an additional fiesta or carnival. Lakshadweep and Pondicherry is considered to be very different from the four important states of states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
