 Quilon is located in Kollam district of Kerala. Also, the headquarters of Kollam District, the place lies 71 kms from Thiruvanathpuram. Quilon is well known for coir manufacturing and cashew processing. An important tourist destination, the town allures the visitors with good number of attractions. Achencoil: It is an important centre for pilgrimage and lies 80 kilometers from Punalur. Amidst thick forests, Sastha temple is situated. Mandala Pooja and the festivals at 'Ravathi' are the two most important festivals of the temple.
Aryankavu: Yet another pilgrim centre, Aryankavu is located 73 kilometers east of Kollam. The Shrine which is dedicated to Lord Shiva is the prime attraction of Aryankavu.
Karunagappally: It is located 27 kilometers from Quilon. The town has two old mosques, Lord Siva and a Mar Thoma Church.
Kulathuppuzha: The place is an important forest range, famous for elephants. Large number of pilgrims visits this place as it has a well-known shrine devoted to Lord Shiva. |
