Rajgir is located around 15 kilometers from Nalanda and the word means 'house of the king'. It is a sacred place of Buddhists. Rajgir is the place where the first Buddhist Council was held after the Nirvana of Buddha. Lord Buddha lived here for many years and delivered sermons.
