Bharatpur
Bharatpur is a striking visitor attraction positioned in the state of Rajasthan. The city was founded in the year 1733 by Maharaja Suraj Mal. According to the legend, the place was named as Bharatpur after Bharata, brother of Lord Rama. Also, in seals, arms and other emblems of the state, the name Laxman is engraved. The KEOLADEO National Park, a paradise for avian world has been listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. During the British Empire it was the finest duck shooting resort. More than 375 beautiful species of bird’s nests here and the sanctuary attracts birds from all over India as well as the World.
